FAQ

  • What makes your brand of nails special?
We put a lot of love into them! Unlike the cheaper, thinner versions available in the mass market, we start with a good quality gel tip, so it's slightly flexible at the cuticle end, this helps you with application. We then apply at least 4 coats of gel by hand, which provides extra strength at the tip end, and of course then there is all the hand decoration of your choice.
  • How long is the processing time for my order?
Custom nails sets. These are all made especially for you by hand. Processing times can vary. They may be ready to ship within a couple of days, but at busy times this can be up to 7 days. If you are in a rush let us know and we'll do our best, but recommend you allow plenty of time for processing and shipping times to avoid disappointment. Ready to ship sets of nails and sizing kits will be sent within 24 hours, unless ordered with custom nails. If both are purchased at the same time, the order will be sent together when the custom nails are ready.
  • How do I measure and place a custom order?
We keep that as simple as possible for you and no faffing about with sizing charts. Here is a useful guide.
  • I love a design but can I change out the colour?
Yes, we are happy for you to express yourself. We have hundreds of colours to choose from so if you love the detail but want a different background for example just let us know at checkout. We will help though, if we think the design would not show up, we may let you know if maybe a lighter or darker shade of the colour would be better. Here's a few colours to consider but feel free to send us a picture of your colour by email if you like.
  • How long will my nails stay on?
Decide on how long you want the press on nails to last: Limited Time (e.g., for a night out): Use the sticky tabs provided. These tabs are perfect if you intend to remove them within a day or so and if you want to easily keep and re-use the nails. Longer Duration (up to a couple of weeks): For a more secure hold, use nail glue or a combination of glue and sticky tabs. This will ensure greater durability and a longer wear time. I recommend wearing protective gloves when your hands will be in water for any length of time or when washing your hair etc Following these steps will help you enjoy your Nails By Sue press on nails for as long as possible, whether you're getting ready for a special occasion or just want a beautiful, everyday look.
  • How do I prepare my natural nails?
Ensuring your beautifully handmade luxury press on nails from Nails By Sue last as long as possible depends on a few crucial steps in the preparation. Here’s a guide: Begin by trimming and cleaning your natural nails thoroughly. Remove any old polish and very gently push back the cuticle area. Remove any non living tissue and buff the nail surface gently to create a slightly roughened texture. Use the alcohol pad to remove any dust and oils. You are now ready to apply your nails.
  • How do I apply nail glue for my press ons?
It's a little easier to show you than tell you so here is a handy video from my channel for you.
  • How do I remove my nails set?
Prepare a bowl of warm water and add dish soap. Put an oil like coconut, aloe vera, or cuticle oil, you can even use olive oil, around your cuticles and nail tips. Soak your nails in the warm water for about 10 mins If you used sticky tabs you will be able to carefully twist the nails off using the cuticle pusher. If they don't come off easily apply more oil and soak again. If you have used glue I would wait until the nails are showing signs of loosening themselves. Some will come off easier than others so if that's the case just repeat the steps above. Never force the nails off if they are not ready. If you don't want to be able to resuse your nails you can use an efile, or acetone soak to remove them. If you're still unsure I recommend watching one of the many available videos on youtube for how to remove press on nails.
